Creating with a Colour Palette

On today's Facebook Live, I demonstrated how to create this card using the colour combination of Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie, and Coastal Cabana. I love these colours together! This card used the stamp and die bundle of Thoughtful Expressions, found of page 47 of the Stampin Up annual catalogue. I love using the circle dies from Spotlight on Nature to create a focal point.

I also created a second card using the same colour combination with the Racing By stamp set, page 87 of the annual catalogue. I added a few embellishments with the dhesive backed Dots for Days, found on page 115. To purchase these products, and many others, shop my online store! https://www.stampinup.ca/?demoid=1002798

Creating with Around We Go bundle!

My huge catalogue order arrived and I always get overwhelmed by it all. Where do I start? What do I make? Well, this time I immediately knew I wanted to use this stamp and die set with the Lily Pond designer series paper! The bundle is called Around We Go and comes with a bunch of different types of circular dies. The Lily Pond paper has great patterns that coordinate perfectly. I used Pretty in Pink as my card base and ink colour. The card base is cut at 5.5" and scored at 4.45". The Basic White is cut at 5.25" x 4". I cut different circles out of 3 patterns of Lily Pond designer series paper and 3 coordinating card stock colours: Pretty Peacock, Smokey Slate and Pretty in Pink. Once I figured out the design, I glued everything down. I stamped the sentiments and used a die to cut out the Hip Hip Hooray and popped that up with dimensionals. I finished it off with Going Gray self adhesive dots.

You can order these products and many others at my On Line store https://www.stampinup.ca/?demoid=1002798 Comments are welcomed! Thanks for stopping buy. Michelle

On the Farm!

I am just in love with these farm animals from Hay There by Lawn Fawn. They do take a bit to colour in, but they are so cute!
So with the first card, I used 5 different animals from the farm to wish a Happy Birthday...from the whole herd!

This second card uses the Wonky stiched rectangle from My Favorite Things, and patterend paper from Lawn Fawn. I added some enamel dots to fill in that space a bit. The word HUGS was die cut with a die from My Favorite Things.  I used Copic markers to colour everything.

Party Pandas!

It's the last month of Sale-a-Bration and today I am featuring the Party Pandas set.

I created basically the same card, but on one I added punched out balloons and on the other I added just the Tutti-Frutti sequins.

It is hard for me to pick which one I like the best. I do know these pandas are adorable and are only available until March 31!

Happy Hour cards

Do you have a stamp set that has been sitting on your shelf that you haven't used yet? In my case, it was the Happy Hour set from Stampin' Up! (page 36 in the catalogue). It was a set I won at a stamping event. I ended up creating 2 cards with the same layout in different colours.

This first one uses the colours Rose Red, Pool Party, Basic Gray and Whisper White. I used the chevron embossing folder in the background.
This second card uses Sycamore Street designer series paper (FREE during sale-a-bration) as the background. The colours are Island Indigo, Sahara Sand, Pool Party, Tangerine tango and Whisper White.

On both cards, the Whisper White was stamped then punched with the 1 3/8" circle punch, then I used the Circles#2 Bigz die to create the mat.

Purple passion

Stampin'Up purists, this post is not for you. :)
I recently began watching what I call "Tim TV"...video demos by Tim Holtz. I was very interested in trying some product, so went to my LSS and bought some Tim Holtz stuff. I played around for a bit with my favourite technique where I crinkle the card stock, rub the Distress Ink over top, spritz with water then watch it blend...so pretty when done with this gorgeous purple called Dusty Concord. I then blended with a light purple called Milled Lavender. A perfect combination. What's great about the Distress Inks is that they react with water to create gorgeous designs.
I stamped the chandelier with black Archival ink (my new fave black) then embossed with black powder. I also used the Archival ink to stamp the damask pattern along the side and bottom. I distressed the edges a bit and matted the chandelier image on Concord Cruch card stock (from SU) then again on Basic Black card stock (also SU). Both ribbons and bling are from SU. The Concord Crush ribbon and card stock match perfectly with the Dusty Concord Distress Ink.

Here is the inside of the card. It is for my neighbour Julia who turns 14 today.
Thank you for looking.

A birthday card for Jen

Ok, so the scan is a wee crooked, but after a few attempts, this was the best one.
I made this for my friend's birthday. Minimal layers, the way she likes. I used the new Vintage Springtime designer paper from the Occasions mini catalogue. I made the flower using the Fun Flowers die and I scrunched up the petals...added vintage brads to finish the card.

What I did yesterday

Yesterday, and last night until 10:00pm, I was at Auntie Em's (my local scrapbook store) and created several cards. Here are just 2 of them.
I still have so much Thoroughly Modern paper left (p. 163 of the Idea Book and Catalogue) and I'm trying to use up my bits and pieces. I really love the colour combo of this line. I also used the bird cage image from the Happy Moments Sale-a-Bration set (p.5 of the Sale-a-Bration catalogue) Above, I used the muted Soft Suede shades and below I added the Bermuda Bay.
I was very productive yesterday, making 12 different cards for the store's display, and creating 8 different cards for myself. I will post more in the next couple of days!

Ice Cream Cake Birthday

I was going through my paper tonight and came across the remains of this old designer series paper...it just screams BIRTHDAY! to me. I like the look of tempting turquoise matched with gable green...it reminds me of spring.
Both of the sets I used on this card are from sets you can earn for FREE during Sale-a-Bration. They are A Little Birthday Cheer (p.138) and Birthday Bliss (p.71)

Birthday Acetate card

This is a birthday card for Ree, one of the ladies from my Curves group. (We all exercise together). She loves dogs and her favourite colour is purple.
I love the acetate cards! They are fun to make and look really cool! I stamped on the acetate with white StazOn. The set I used is called Man's Best Friend and is on the dormant list, soon to be retired on Jan. 4.

Up, Up and Away!

I LOVE these Sweet Center treat cups! They are absolutely so fun to work with. I think this card would be perfect for a little kid's birthday. I used card stock colours that matched the M&M colours. I used my scallop circle punch to create the clouds.
Also, just a reminder that the Stampin' Addicts blog hop starts on Saturday! We will be showcasing projects made with product from the new Holiday mini catalogue (like these treat cups and Sweet Centers stamp set)! Lots of great ideas to share.

Thanks for stopping by...Have a stampy day!

You Take The Cake!

There's a thread over at Splitcoaststampers about the Taken With Teal ink pad. So all the talk got me thinking about this colour combination. This stamp set was the one sitting on my desk, so it was the one I used. I used my Taken With Teal marker, Rose Red and Chocolate Chip. I embossed the background with the Stampin' Up! exclusive Sizzix Texturz plate called Backgrounds 1. I also used my new favourite die from the Lots of Tags set and paired it with the modern label punch. A little bit of glitter is the "icing on the cake"!

Birthday Balloons

I made this for a co-worker's daughter. I think the colours are perfect for a 10 year old.
Yep, these are old SAB sets...my SU order has not yet arrived! LOL! And though I LOVE the sets I got from Convention, none were suitable for a birthday card.

French birthday card

At my job, a calendar is circulated every month. On the calendar is listed every employee's birthday. I have made a card for every birthday since I began March 10, whether I know the employee or not. So far they have been well recieved.
This card is for a colleague in one of our french queues. I do not know her, well except someone pointed her out to me and said, "that's her." so I know who to give the card to, LOL!
The sentiment translates into, "Birthday Wishes". Her birthday is tomorrow, so I hope she likes it! With convention only 3 weeks away, I have been very busy with my swaps etc...and very negligent in my blog visits. I do apologize, but I promice to visit you all soon!

Enjoy every moment

I decided to pull out stamp sets I haven't used in a long time. Here I used Enjoy Every Moment. I added a sentiment from It's Your Birthday on the second card.
I random stamped the background on both cards in turquoise, pumpkin and green galore.

Big, Bright Birthday!

I never seem to have enough birthday cards on hand, and I just adore my clown set, so I took it out again! What a difference colour makes, huh? Compared to the baby clown cards I did earlier.
I LOVE Bold Brights for kids cards!

Penguin Party

A guy at my work asked if I could make his girlfriend a birthday card with a penguin theme. This is what I came up with. The first penguin is popped up. Inside it simply says Happy Birthday with another penguin stamped inside. I also stamped penguins along the flap of the envelope.
