First Annual Women's Fair

On Saturday May 25, we held the first annual Women's Show in my village of Long Sault, On. There were 30 endors there selling everything from home made candles and soaps, to jewelry to little girls' tutus and accessories. There were several other home business participating and I was there as the local Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I made a few great contacts, sold some cards and promoted my BOGO event. I een made it in the local paper, where I have had several phone calls saying, "Hey I saw you in the paper! I'll cut the article for you!"...so you know I'll be scrapbooking that!

Hope you liked my display. If you have any suggestions to make it better, leave me a comment!

Salt Lake City day 1

Well, after a (very) rocky 15 hours all in of travel time between THREE airports (including a 2 hour flight delay), I must say today was much better. The room mates and I went shopping (and a bit of sight seeing) and hit the City Creek Centre AND took the TRAX to the Gateway Mall.

AMAZING sales going on here people! One of my room mates got both kids back to school shopping done at this store called RUUM...everything on sale PLUS 50% off! I of course LOVED my Christopher and Banks store, which never disapoints me, and purchassed two new outfits and matching jewelry. My other room mate (the one who says she doesn't like to shop...so NOT Tacha), picked out my necklace and capris. I amd so happy with my new clothes! This is now an annual thing for me, shopping and Christopher and Banks!

The Bag.

Cute shirt and capris

Lacy shirt...LOVE. Awesome necklace.

So tomorrow Convention begins, so I will be posting often.  I will be posting updates on my facebook page, so make sure "like" my page to get the updates!

Scrapbook pages

First, sorry for my absence. The abandoned cat we decided to keep on New Year's eve had 7 kittens last week! Also, my BunBun went into stasis, so we had some emergency vet visits to deal with.  Supplementing kitten feeding, and medicating and hand feeding the BunBun take up a lot of time! :0
Here are the pages:

I used the Storytime designer paper (#126907) and the co-ordinating stamp set, Storybook Friends (#126737) for both pages.
And just for your cuteness quota, here are some kittens:
They are getting big! Their eyes are not yet open; they are a week old as of last night.
Have a great Monday!

Momento Mall means re-packing!

This is a fellow demonstrator, in the lobby of the hotel I was at, with all her stuff strewn about, trying to figure out what goes where. She was over by 2 pounds, so she is re-arranging all her stuff to fit AND be under the maximum weight allowance!
In my case, momento mall shopping shopping for my Stamper's Club and my upline and sideline, meant buying new luggage. Yes, you read that correctly...I actually had to go to Macy's and BUY a suitcase to bring home Momento Mall stuff. I was lucky though...Macy's had a sale. I got a 5 piece luggage set for 62.00 (that INCLUDES the tax!) I'm such a shopper. (and I couldn't blame Stamp Bear because he was at home)! So when Mike picked me up at the airport, not only did he forget I was blonde, he didn't recognize the luggage I was carrying! LOL!

This is Salt Lake City taken from the airport.

Here I am with my room mates...Lisa, Suzanne and Lisa.
Now for some random pics of me with fellow demonstrators:

A Fun-Filled Weekend

First, this was the weekend of the Crop For Autism Awareness, for which I was the Stampin'Up! demonstrator. I set up my "booth" with my displays of cards, scrapbook pages and My Digital Studio samples. I also did a card class, where half the fee went directly to the crop, to support Autism Awareness in rural communities. I brought Stamp Bear with me, and wore my cool Stampin'Up! shirt.
Secondly, it was my Dad's 80th birthday, and we had a surprise party for him. All five of his kids came (as well as some in-laws and grandkids) and we took lots of pictures, but this one is my favourite. This is all the siblings together, a rare event.
We pooled funds and got him tickets to the Blue Jays playing the Red Sox in Toronto as well as train fare to and from Cobourg, where he and my mom will stay with my brother, Dane and go to the game with him. My Dad was genuinely surprised...it was wonderful!
Thirdly, I went to my friend Jen's for a fun, creative day stamping with team members.
Fun-filled weekend.

Are you REALLY going to blog?

Yes.
I mean it this time.
No, really!
It has been a few months, and things are settling down. We lost our beautiful cat Shawn last month, and I'm still very sad about that. Someday I will do a scrapbook page about him. this is him. He was only 2 years old.

I am still stamping and creating and selling my creations. I am still doing my monthly classes. I am still teaching at day care. And as of today, I am blogging again.
No, really.

More Convention Photos

This post is for Tyler, who I think still reads my blog, but if not, maybe Maureen or Rachel can direct him here? :)
See these next 2 photos? The ones with the guys in them? Those are demonstrators. Sure, the first one, Spencer, he works at Stampin'Up, but he's also a demonstrator.
The second photo...that's Kevin. He's been a demonstrator for 15 years. See all that bling on his lanyard? Those are pins from past conventions, leadership, promotions, etc...that's a lot of bling. Also, Kevin's son is now a demonstrator, too.
And finally, that's Max. Yep, he's a dog. His human is a demonstrator and she comes to every convention with Max. He's the most photographed male in the place!

So, Tyler, if you want to come to convention with me next year, and be treated like a GOD, (as the male demonstators are), then let's talk! I've got a starter kit with your name on it! :)

What a party!

Last night I had the pleasure of attending a Stampin'Up! meeting hosted by Kim Assaly. She was one of the Workshop of a Lifetime winners and had Shelli Gardner (the CEO of Stampin'Up!) do a workshop for her. Well, as generous as Kim is, she organized a meeting for area demonstrators and customers. We were all able to meet Shelli and her daughter Sara, have photos taken, swap cards with each other, and eat delicious food. Oh...and 4 lucky people walked away with incredible door prizes: a Big Shot, a set of clear blocks, a Colour Caddy and a Circle Scissors Plus with glass mat! We also had 4 wonderful make and takes! These kind of events take quite a lot of planning and organizing, so hat's off to Kim for a terrific evening!
Did I take photos? why, yes I did. Why aren't they posted? Well, I'm still having issues with my memory card. So instead I am posting a card I made using the Thoroughly Modern DSP and hope to have my issues sorted soon!

Home From Stampin'Palooza!

Stampin'Palooza in Toronto was this past weekend, and it was so much FUN! On Friday night, we enjoyed a presentation from guest speaker Linda Hanson...so inspiring! Like all of her team meetings, Caroline set up 2 make and takes for us to do, as you can see in the following picture.
There was also a door prize, lots of coffee and treats, and tons of swapping!

On Saturday, we spent the morning watching different presentations (I was also a presenter) and some of the ideas I got were truly amazing! Everyone did a fabulous job. PLUS, presenters got a 50.00 gift certificate for Stampin'Up! product!
We broke for lunch which also gave us the opportunity to look at all the display boards. I have pictures and I will post them tomorrow.
Lunch was so delicious! We could choose from 4 different kind of wraps. Everyone got to pick their boxed lunch which included the wrap, 2 cookies, a salad, grapes, chips and a drink. It took less than 10 minutes for everyone to get their lunch...a huge improvement from last time.
When we signed in, we were given our bags with our 6 make and take projects in them. Included was a DVD tin project, a scallop circle chipboard album project, a Sweet Treat cups project, and the 2 cards seen here. I have to say I didn't like the rosette flower card at first, but it's now my favourite!

Oh yeah! I forgot to mention the door prizes! There were 50 (fifty!) door prizes! I was so happy to have won one. The atmosphere was exciting as people waited to see if they won...the odds were pretty darn good after all!

I am very thankful that I was invited to present at Stampin'Palooza and I look forward to the next one!

Love Me Some NEW Goodies!

Oooohhh! I love it when the UPS guy shows up, but I was especially excited on Thursday because he brought me my pre-order stuff! This whole box was just for me!
Most of the sets I chose to get as unmounted sets.
As soon as I get to playing with everything (I know, but I'm sick right now), I will post my new creations.

Using scraps

I make it a point to use up my scrap pieces of paper right away, otherwise it ends up in my "drawer of doom" never to be used again...mostly because I am too lazy to root through it to find what I am looking for. So as I finish my projects, and have these strips of pretty paper laying around, I come up with ways to use them up.
On this card, I cut the strips of paper to 4" and adhered them to my card. All the pieces are different thicknesses depending on what was left, and that doesn't matter, as long as they are all the same length (4"). Then I used a long image for the center...I used this cute reindeer stamp I had (not SU, but I just love him). I love the way this turned out, and in fact made several of these cards to give away.
Hope you can all find ways to use your scraps...if you have any tips, please share!
Thanks for stopping by!

My new look!

Well, actually, it's Michelle Laycock's new look, but she created it just for me!
I LOVE it!
It is completely different than anything I had imagined.
So now I really have to blog more often. Really. I mean it this time.
I am finally able to catch my breath for a few weeks, anyway, before Sale-a-Bration starts! I am so very excited for SAB and already have 4 workshops booked in January, plus a brand new Stamper's Club starting.
So I will leave you with a cute Cold and Cuddly penguin.
Thanks for stopping by!
