Stamp-a-Stack

Today was my All Occasions stamp-a-stack, where we literally stamp a stack of 12 cards (3 each of 4 different designs) for a set price. Here are the cards we created today...the first one is my original design, and the other three are cards I found on Pinterest.

Secret Garden Emboss Resist Technique

Sometimes the most beautiful technique ends up being one of the easiest to do! I used Stampin' Up!'s Secret Garden stamp set and matching framelits (LOVE matching framelits) to demonstrate this technique. For this technique, you will need:
-Whisper White card stock
-white embossing powder
-Versamark pad
-ink pad (I used Pink Pirouette)
-heat tool
-a dauber or sponge
-a rubber stamp (I used Secret Garden)
-a tissue

 How to emboss resist:
-stamp your image with versamark onto Whisper White card stock
-pour on the white embossing powder
-shake off the excess
-heat with the heat tool (you will notice the powder melting)
-using the dauber or sponge, apply ink to the embossed image. Start in the middle and work your way out to create more depth.
-using the tissue, wipe off the excess ink

Here is my finished card:

Materials used:
-Secret garden stamp set and matching framelits 131099 clear mount bundle
-Apothecary Accents framelits 127003
-ovals framelits 129381

Happy Hour cards

Do you have a stamp set that has been sitting on your shelf that you haven't used yet? In my case, it was the Happy Hour set from Stampin' Up! (page 36 in the catalogue). It was a set I won at a stamping event. I ended up creating 2 cards with the same layout in different colours.

This first one uses the colours Rose Red, Pool Party, Basic Gray and Whisper White. I used the chevron embossing folder in the background.
This second card uses Sycamore Street designer series paper (FREE during sale-a-bration) as the background. The colours are Island Indigo, Sahara Sand, Pool Party, Tangerine tango and Whisper White.

On both cards, the Whisper White was stamped then punched with the 1 3/8" circle punch, then I used the Circles#2 Bigz die to create the mat.

Fabric Flowers

I have been busy making fabric flowers using the new Flirtatious fabric (it matches the Flirtatious Designer Series paper). These are available in the NEW 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalogue, available July 1st!
I am going to put these on a card, which I will upload later today, so stay tuned!

Pretty Flowers

This scanned very crooked...couldn't fix it.
I used the 5 petal punch to make the flowers. I punched them out of Melon Mambo patterns DSP. I also used the Top Note die. The sentiment was punched out with word window punch and layered onto modern label punch. I then used the sizzlets little leaves and added buttons to the flowers.

More Swap cards from Convention

Most of the swapping I did was for Caroline LeBel, who is busy planning our Stampin'Palooza and wasn't able to come to Convention...she will be going to Founder's Circle in September, though! But I did manage to swap a bit for myself. Here are more samples.
Above is the cool Halloween set called From the Crypt, created by Anna Haase.

This pretty card uses the Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set Very Thankful. Two dollars from every set sold is donated to RMHC. Card created by Vera Schoeters.

This is TOTALLY cute! It was made using the Big Shot #2 die and various other punches. There is no information as to who created this, sorry.

One of the best cards using the Manhatten Flower embossing folders that I have seen. Created by Liz Gullett.
I am leaving for a very brief trip to Moncton, NB and I will be back on Thursday. I will try to update the blog while I am away.

Pretty Kitty

I have been busy with Convention swaps, but took a break to post something new, that I won't be swapping at Convention. I love this set, C is for Cat, and the pretty Cottage Wall DSP. I also used the Lots of Tags die, which is quickly becoming a favourite!
Well, back to my swaps. I can't believe I leave in 5 days!

You Take The Cake!

There's a thread over at Splitcoaststampers about the Taken With Teal ink pad. So all the talk got me thinking about this colour combination. This stamp set was the one sitting on my desk, so it was the one I used. I used my Taken With Teal marker, Rose Red and Chocolate Chip. I embossed the background with the Stampin' Up! exclusive Sizzix Texturz plate called Backgrounds 1. I also used my new favourite die from the Lots of Tags set and paired it with the modern label punch. A little bit of glitter is the "icing on the cake"!
Thanks for stopping by!

Another flower card

So my scanner is finally working again.
I made this card a few days ago, using the Fifth Avenue Floral set. I also used the Top Note die. To put the ribbon through, I used the horizontal slot punch. I stamped the extra flower, cut out and used dimensionals to pop it up. I put Dazzling Diamonds glitter in the center of the flower.

No witty title...just a card

Thursday afternoon I went to Auntie Em's and made a bunch of cards. Left my stuff there and returned Friday and stamped til 10:00 pm. I seem to get much more accomplished when I go there as apposed to at home where I am distracted by the phone, the computer, the cats wanting out...then in. Then out. You get the picture.
Yesterday was fun as I ended up teaching an impromtu class to a few new stampers. Now they want to have a workshop! I also did a one-on-one with a customer and she was very appreciative. You don't get THAT at Michael's with your 40% coupon! LOL!
This card uses the set Always on page 113. The colour shceme is Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss.

Paper Quilts

I love these quilts that I have seen everywhere! What a great way to use up scraps of paper. Want to know how to make it?
-cut paper 1" x 1" (great way to use up those scrap pieces)
-cut a base 4"x 5 1/4" (can be out of card stock that you really don't like, b/c it won't show!)
-smear glue all over that base.
-adhere the 1" pieces creating a pattern that is pleasing to you.
-Once the whole base is covered, use the Top Note die to cut it out.
-To create a quilted look, run through the Big Shot using one of the Texturz plates.
-I also cut a piece of card stock to use as a mat for my card and ran that through the Big Shot with the Texturz plate.
-Assemble your card and embellish at will. I like to use buttons...it goes with the whole theme.
-Sometimes I actually sew on the "quilt" before I assemble the card. This adds extra texture and looks really cool.

Summer Sunshine

This just shouts SUMMER! to me. Usually I do not use a lot of Summer Sun, but I like it with the white daisies. I also LOVE the corduroy buttons!
To get the sentiment, I only inked up the Live, Laugh & Love and omitted the happy birthday. This way the card can be used for any occasion.
DEETS:
Stamps: On Your Birthday
Card stock/paper: Summer Sun, Whisper White
Ink: Summer Sun
Accessories: Big Shot Daisies #2 die, Big Shot Scallop Oval die, Summer Sun corduroy buttons

Daisies

I have scoured the net looking for the original card that I got this idea from, and I can't find it. It was a gorgeous card, so much so that it made me buy the scallop oval big shot die and daisies #2 big shot die. Yes, 50..00 I spent so I could replicate the card I saw on someone's blog, and now I can't find it!
Deets:
stamps: All Year Cheer, Dreams du Jour
ink: Regal Rose
card stock/ paper: Love Sparkles scrappin' kit, Regal Rose, WhisperWhite
accessories: Big Shot Scallop Oval die, Big Shot Daisies #2 die, Big Shot Butterflies die, whisper white brads, stampin' dimensionals

Just B...creative!

This set, Just B, has been in the past few catalogues but I never gave it much thought until my downline got it in her starter kit. She has been kind enough to lend it to me. This first card is my favourite so far, incorporating the Big shot Top Note Die and new scallop oval punch. The background panel was actually run through with the texture plates (diamond pattern) but is hard to see here.

B is for butterfly as seen on this last card. The colour combo used on this card, and the one directly above, uses my fave "in colours": Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red. Yep, Just B (page 140 of the catalogue) is definitely on my list! (I get to choose 7 any priced sets absolutely free-thanks SU!)

Look at that...a whole week in a row of blogging. I am on a roll!

See, 2 posts in 1 week! I promise to keep it up. Now that I am no longer working, I will have lots of time.
I LOVE the set Cheep Talk on page 90 of the catalogue. I don't own it (yet) but it will be one of my free sets that I earned during Sale-a-Bration. In the meantime, I borrowed my downline's.
The deets:

Bunny Bag Topper

So I've seen so many different toppers on Splitcoaststampers made out of various punches and Big Shot dies, that I decided to try one of my own. I came up with this bunny made mostly of punches.
The head and cheeks are made with Big Shot scallop circle #2 die in Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirouette.
The ears are made from scallop oval and large oval punches in Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirouette.
The eyes are made of 1" (white) and 1/2" (black) circle punches and the eyelids are made with 1 1/4" (pretty in pink) circle punch cut in half.
I cut the whiskers and teeth freehand.
