Secret Garden Emboss Resist Technique

Sometimes the most beautiful technique ends up being one of the easiest to do! I used Stampin' Up!'s Secret Garden stamp set and matching framelits (LOVE matching framelits) to demonstrate this technique. For this technique, you will need:
-Whisper White card stock
-white embossing powder
-Versamark pad
-ink pad (I used Pink Pirouette)
-heat tool
-a dauber or sponge
-a rubber stamp (I used Secret Garden)
-a tissue

 How to emboss resist:
-stamp your image with versamark onto Whisper White card stock
-pour on the white embossing powder
-shake off the excess
-heat with the heat tool (you will notice the powder melting)
-using the dauber or sponge, apply ink to the embossed image. Start in the middle and work your way out to create more depth.
-using the tissue, wipe off the excess ink

Here is my finished card:

Happy Hour cards

Do you have a stamp set that has been sitting on your shelf that you haven't used yet? In my case, it was the Happy Hour set from Stampin' Up! (page 36 in the catalogue). It was a set I won at a stamping event. I ended up creating 2 cards with the same layout in different colours.

This first one uses the colours Rose Red, Pool Party, Basic Gray and Whisper White. I used the chevron embossing folder in the background.
This second card uses Sycamore Street designer series paper (FREE during sale-a-bration) as the background. The colours are Island Indigo, Sahara Sand, Pool Party, Tangerine tango and Whisper White.

On both cards, the Whisper White was stamped then punched with the 1 3/8" circle punch, then I used the Circles#2 Bigz die to create the mat.

Wedding card made with Just Married.

When I first saw this set, Just Married, in the Stampin' Up! Occaisions catalogue, I fell in love with the cake image, but wasn't sure about the shoes. Does that ever happen to you? You see the whole set and think "I'll use these images, but not sure about those." Well, it turns out, I LOVE the shoes and can see many more possibilities with them. Take a look and tell me what you think.

Best Wishes on your wedding day.

Stampin'Up! Leadership Display Boards

Part of the fun of attending Stampin'Up! events are the display boards...hundreds of samples to get the creative juices flowing! Here are just a few photos.

It was hard to get close, or get individual photos due to the sheer amount of people there taking photos and milling about.
I do have plenty of swaps though, and they will be on display at my upcoming Kick-Off party on Sunday!

Stampin'Up! Leadership-First Day Fun!

This is my first Leadership conference and I have to thank Carley for being able to take Alexis during the day, my mom for watching the kids after school until 4pm, and Ainsley and Julia for taking the kids til 5:30. I wouldn't have been able to come without them!

OK, here is what we recieved as our packet...our booklet, leadership pin, catalogues and FREE stamp set PLUS we get to pick out another free set of our choice! Those of us that earned Manager's Reception also get to choose a free stamp set, for a total of 3.
Today at General Session, as well as giving out Prize Patrole, they announced a new program called Paper Pumpkin and then gave every one of us the new Paper Pumpkin Kits!
They also announced a new stamp kit called Dude, You're Welcome, made specifically for the men in our lives, and they gave every male demo their own kit for free!
This is how the Paper Pumpkin kit comes!

LOVE this! Kit #1

Kit#2, looks fun!
Oh yeah! Exciting news! Every General Session, they will randomly select 5 demos to receive FREE Convention registration! PLUS...they can give one free registration to a new recruit! How cool that?

I have never been on a rollercoaster before, but today I rode the Manta THREE times! and then I rode the Kraken THREE times! I am very proud of myself. I also saw all the shows and my favourite was the Animal Theatre which featured rescued cats, dogs, ducks, birds and even a pig. So far, i am loing Orlando!
