Same card, different colour...

My neighbour (and blog reader) emailed me saying how much she liked my last entry and suggested I do the same card but in purple, like purple coneflower (I can't spell it's Latin name). So here it is!
I used Orchid Opulence for this card. I'm thinking I like the Black-Eyed Susans best (see previous post), but this turned out OK.

Using markers on stamps

Using markers on stamps is such an easy way to colour! I love bold image stamps the best and I often use markers. For this card, I first stamped the grass with Versamark. Then I used the markers directly on the stamp, colouring the center Chocolate Chip, the petals Summer Sun and the stems Old Olive. While I was colouring the petals, I pulled a bit of the chocolate chip from the center to add a bit of brown to the petals. I love the way the versamark leaves streaks on the image.
I used the sentiment from Trendy Trees and punched it with large oval and layered it on scallopped oval.

Using buttons

I really like using buttons...they add a perfect touch! For this card I used a Baja Breeze corduroy button tied around the Baja Breeze ribbon with linen thread.

Using DSP

I LOVE paper! I love mixing patterns and colours. So this paper special really appealed to me and I took advantage of it!
The first card uses the rockin' Rockabilly paper pack. LOVE that paper! I think it would be great for a teen's birthday.
The second card uses the Urban Oasis pack. This paper matches with the Manhatten Flower embossing folder and the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set.
There's still time left for the "Buy 3 Get 1 free" paper promo...until May31! Email me if you'd like to take advantage of this.

You ROCK!

The Runaways had a song called "Cherry Bomb" and that's the song I hear when I use this paper!
You bet I took advantage of the "Buy 3 get 1 free" paper promo that Stampin' Up! is offering until May 31. I LOVE paper! I have been fascinated with the Rockabilly paper since I first saw it, and finally decided to order it. It is so COOL! Some parts of the paper are glossy and embossed. Very tactile. The colours are vibrant. I think I might just get another pack!
Besides the Rockabilly paper, I used Kiwi Kiss and Basic Black card stock and the stamp set Just Jawing.
I stamped the cherries in Kiwi Kiss and in Riding Hood Red. I cut the Riding Hood Red out and used dimensionals to pop them up.

No witty title...just a card

Thursday afternoon I went to Auntie Em's and made a bunch of cards. Left my stuff there and returned Friday and stamped til 10:00 pm. I seem to get much more accomplished when I go there as apposed to at home where I am distracted by the phone, the computer, the cats wanting out...then in. Then out. You get the picture.
Yesterday was fun as I ended up teaching an impromtu class to a few new stampers. Now they want to have a workshop! I also did a one-on-one with a customer and she was very appreciative. You don't get THAT at Michael's with your 40% coupon! LOL!
This card uses the set Always on page 113. The colour shceme is Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss.

Paper Quilts

I love these quilts that I have seen everywhere! What a great way to use up scraps of paper. Want to know how to make it?
-cut paper 1" x 1" (great way to use up those scrap pieces)
-cut a base 4"x 5 1/4" (can be out of card stock that you really don't like, b/c it won't show!)
-smear glue all over that base.
-adhere the 1" pieces creating a pattern that is pleasing to you.
-Once the whole base is covered, use the Top Note die to cut it out.
-To create a quilted look, run through the Big Shot using one of the Texturz plates.
-I also cut a piece of card stock to use as a mat for my card and ran that through the Big Shot with the Texturz plate.
-Assemble your card and embellish at will. I like to use buttons...it goes with the whole theme.
-Sometimes I actually sew on the "quilt" before I assemble the card. This adds extra texture and looks really cool.

Going Gray

I was cropping at Auntie Em's Friday night and Saturday and I noticed these gray papers from the Walk In The Park Designer Series paper found in the Occasions mini on pg 9. For some reason, I never noticed them before, but the way the papers were strewn about on my table caught my eye. So these are just some of the projects I made using these gray papers.

I really like the Pale Plum and Perfect Plum butterflies with this paper. (I made several of those in varying designs). I also really like the way the wedding card turned out.
Thanks for stopping by!

Summer Sunshine

This just shouts SUMMER! to me. Usually I do not use a lot of Summer Sun, but I like it with the white daisies. I also LOVE the corduroy buttons!
To get the sentiment, I only inked up the Live, Laugh & Love and omitted the happy birthday. This way the card can be used for any occasion.
DEETS:
Stamps: On Your Birthday
Card stock/paper: Summer Sun, Whisper White
Ink: Summer Sun
Accessories: Big Shot Daisies #2 die, Big Shot Scallop Oval die, Summer Sun corduroy buttons

Super Fun Weekend!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!
I had SO much fun this weekend! I was at a Auntie Em's Friday night making cards til midnight. On Saturday, a small group of us got together at a town hall for a day of scrapping and pot luck! SO much great food, lots of challenges and door prizes. And the company was super!
I made 16 cards Saturday and this was one of them. I was in a card exchange and had to make 20 cards (I made flower pot cards) and had this paper left over so I used it on this card. I also used the Great Friend set from the Occasions Mini.
Thanks for stopping by!
