We had to say good-bye again...

Nicki was diagnosed with Diabetes in January. She was actually doing really well in that aspect...then last week we brought her in due to an increase in fluid in her abdomen. Cell samples were taken and the news was bad...Cancer.
Today, as i looked in her eyes, i knew it was time. Her abdomen was swelling again, and her eyes told me she was done.
Mike and I brought her to the vet, and her doctor was able to administer her shot, and say good-bye to her also.

This photo was taken in January.

Oh Michelle I am so very sorry! I lost my kitty a couple years back and it was one of the hardest things I've been through. It does sound like this was for the best though, sparing her a lot of suffering. Take care!

I am so sorry for your loss. Hope this can help find you comfort during this difficult time.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Oh Michelle!

I'm so sorry to hear about Nicki. It wasn't all that long ago that we had to do the same thing and there's nothing like it.

Hang in there my friend!

Many Blessings,

Sorry to hear about Nicki - We lost our 14 yr. old last fall to a tumor on her kidney after several weeks of giving her fluids at home,
My 16 yr. old is starting to have some kidney issues too but a change in diet seems to have helped for now.

I am so sorry to read about this, my heart absolutely goes out to you. These little lives attach themselves to us and all too soon they are gone. Take comfort in the fact that you gave her a good home and that she knows she was loved.

I visit your blog daily, as I love your creations, but have never felt compelled to post...until now.

I am so very sorry for your loss. We had to put our beloved cat to sleep almost two years ago, and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of him. So I know how much this hurts. Rest assured that your precious girl will be watching over you always....

God bless. Carmen
