A Christmas wish...

I liked this stamp set right away, but I put off buying it because I know I do not colour much and I thought I would neglect it. But I recently was able to get hostess bennies, so I picked this for free. Figured if I didn;t use it to its fullest potential, no harm no fowl, right?
WELL...I love it! I embossed it in brown on very vanilla card stock and sponged the edges. I took a red marker to the bow and berries. I LOVE it! I have sold quite a few of these, the others had a creamy caramel mat instead of red mat, but I thought I'd see what the red looked like and I like it.

Dreams

This is one of the cards we made in my last card class. We did an altered lunch box and 10 cards. This was probobly my favourite though. This is called a joy fold card and you can find the instructions here:
My weekend was incredibly busy with a workshop Friday night, an altered lunch pail and 10 cards class Saturday night and a mom and me card class Sunday afternoon. I'm a little bit tired. :)

Wow! Two in a row!

Wow, look at that! Two days in a row!
I am in love with the Sweet Always paper and the giant Bella Blossom flower! This paper line is my favourite, followed very closely by the Hawaiin Papaya, which is odd, as I do not really like orange all that much.
This flower MUST be stamped 3 times, and then cut out and layered with pop dots. Well, OK, it's not the LAW or anything, but it really does look best that way! And add a bit of glitter just to the edges of the petals. I have made this flower in every colour imaginable...and it always looks great!

I'm still alive.

Thanks everyone for your emails asking if all is OK with me! I know, I have been totally negligent. I am happy to say it is because I have been really busy building my Stampin' Up business. It has been a very successful couple of months!

I promice to upload more often.

So here are just a couple of my favourite cards I've made over the past couple of weeks.

Sweetly pink...

This is one of my mini catalogue sample cards. I am very happy with it! The paper is Bella Rose, stamp set is A Happy Heart, which is available to order October 1st. I used Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirouette card stock. Much more girly than my usual stuff!

Holly card

So, I'm not sure if I like the pearls on the holly...maybe it's too much. What do you think?
I LOVE the Ski Slope paper, though, especially with the Baja Blue ribbon.
The holly was stamped in Versamark and embossed.

Windy Day

I just LOVE all my new goodies from the SU mini catalogue, but Season of Friendship is my favourite! I love how the tree matches my Whimsey wheel and makes it look like it's windy. I also love Autumn and these fall colours! I wheeled Whimsey and stamped leaves on glossy cardstock. I used some of my hodgepodge hardware and chocolate chip and more mustard ribbon.
Friday, I went to Ottawa to stamp and create with Trina. She took me out for lunch and we invited another friend, Linda, to join us. Later that afternoon, I got to visit with Linda before going home. It was a very fun day!

Colour Inspiration

Friday, at work, there were these coloured streamers on my co-worker's desk. I saw the colours and was inspired! I very seldom use my Bold Brights, but these streamers work so well together! And that piece of Elegant Eggplant thrown into the mix? Brilliant! So when I got home, I took out my Pixie Pink, Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore and Elegant Eggplant and created this card. Just goes to show, you can find inspiration anywhere, even at your crappy day job! LOL!

Oh, and BTW, I am now totally addicted to my Stamp-a-ma-jig, thank you very much Angela! God forbid I should stamp my sentiment without it, or else BAD things are likely to happen. Seriously, I went to add my sentiment here, and physically could not do it without the jig!

RHC thank you card

One of the free sets we got at Convention was the Ronald McDonald House Charity set, Say it With Scallops. For every set sold, Stampin' Up donates 2.00 to RHC.
I created this thank you card using the set and the square scallop punch.

Celebrate

Shelli has a blog! And she has challanged us to create a project with the word "celebrate", so I did! Look, Angela, I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig! (Angela was one of my SLC roomates and a huge stamp-a-ma-jig advocate).
I made other cards, but this one is my favourite! Stamp sets: Enjoy Every Moment
Card Stock: chocolate chip, Kiwi Kiss, whisper white
ink: chocolate chip, kiwi kiss
acc: old olive poly-twill ribbon, stamp-a-ma-jig

Birthday Balloons

I made this for a co-worker's daughter. I think the colours are perfect for a 10 year old.
Yep, these are old SAB sets...my SU order has not yet arrived! LOL! And though I LOVE the sets I got from Convention, none were suitable for a birthday card.

News from Salt Lake City!

WOW! What a Convention! I had so much fun, and there is so much news to share! The biggest news, of course, is the new partnership SU has...I'll tell you about that in a minute.
On day Two, I was one of the lucky winners from Prize Patrole! I recieved new Holiday Treasures Designer paper, new in colour ink, wide Old Olive grosgrain ribbon and the new Word Flurries rub-ons! LOVE free stuff!
Speaking of free stuff, UPS came while Shelli was on stage on Day Three and announced he had a package for...EVERYBODY! The room exploded as 6000 ladies jumped from their seats and screamed! Then a couple of dozen UPS workers came running out to hand us our package. It turns out UPS donated the Ronald McDonald House charity stamp set to every demonstrator! How cool is that? I can hardly wait to use it and show all my customers this super awesome set!
Well that's about it. Oh, yeah...the "BIG" news...the "BIG" partnership that Shelli announced. SU is now offering exclusive SU only dies for the sizzix BIG SHOT! And we also offer the Big Shot and many other Sizzix dies! I was so excited when i heard this news! The projects I saw demonstrated with this exciting new tool were all so creative, fun and EASY! And who doesn't like easy? As a perk for Convention attendees, there are bundles available for pre-order at a discount! Thanks, SU!

Castaways Crop

Oh, how much fun did I have Saturday afternoon, scrapping with my Castaways! It had been so long since I was able to meet with them! And I will be saving up for our NavCan weekend in October, ladies! As soon as I pay off my Convention trip! LOL!
So I am in love, LOVE I say, with this Bella Rose paper from SU! And the level 2 hostess set with the gingerbread men, OMG! So cute! I made these 2 cards yesterday, but I have to say I really like the second one...warmest wishes! (cuz it's a gingerbread man...from the oven...get it?)
Yep, I'm crazy like that!

Only 2 more days til I am on that plane headed for convention in gorgeous Salt Lake City! I am just a little bit excited! LOL! So many plans...I will be meeting my roomie Dawn at the Chicago airport as it just so happens we are on the same flight! We have never met before. Then we will both meet Angela, our other roomie, once we get to the Homewood Suites. There are many parties and get-togethers planned outside of the classes and workshops and events that SU has planned, so I will be back with many photos!

Ethan

LOVE this paper-it's the same paper I used for the Sam Rocks page.
This is my neice's baby, Ethan. He is just over one year old. I met him at my neice's wedding a couple of weeks ago. He is very cute and funny! See that black and white photo of him? I have a pic somewhere of his mom and she looks just like that! I want to do a page with a side by side of both pics...assoon as I findit! LOL! I sold 4 more boxes of cards today-for 120.00. That's half my room at Salt Lake City. If I can sell another 4 boxes, or individual cards, and make another 120.00, my room AND my flight will have been paid for by selling cards since Mother's Day! How cool would that be!
(Hey, anybody need cards? LOL!)

The scan came out crooked-ack!
This was another DT project. I used my friend Michelle's pictures because they camp and we don't! LOL! Plus the subject matter isa so darn cute! She takes great photos, too.

French birthday card

At my job, a calendar is circulated every month. On the calendar is listed every employee's birthday. I have made a card for every birthday since I began March 10, whether I know the employee or not. So far they have been well recieved.
This card is for a colleague in one of our french queues. I do not know her, well except someone pointed her out to me and said, "that's her." so I know who to give the card to, LOL!
The sentiment translates into, "Birthday Wishes". Her birthday is tomorrow, so I hope she likes it! With convention only 3 weeks away, I have been very busy with my swaps etc...and very negligent in my blog visits. I do apologize, but I promice to visit you all soon!

Sam Rocks

This was created for my design team. I LOVE this paper! I used the SU star punches to mimic the stars in the paper.

Roses in Winter

I traded stamps with Linda and this is one of the stamp sets I chose. I don't have any stamps like this, and it is very different from my usual style. I am pretty happy with my trade, and I hope Linda is enjoying her new sets.

Check out this awesome candy at starving artists!

The dancing birds

OMG, I just LOVE it when an idea comes together and the end result is EXACTLY what I envisioned! I adore the way this card turned out! Oh, Linda, you may not get this stamp set back! LOL!
You know, I think the 2006 summer mini was my favourite. Cowboy Kid, spunky alphabet, polka-dot posies, shore thing, flip flops wheel, edgy eloquence, clowning around and Pattern of Friebdship...all awesome sets that I really miss! Just thought I'd share. stamp set: Shore Thing, Edgy Eloquence

acc: dimensionals, twine

Beachin'

I borrowed the set Shore Thing from fellow demo and friend, Linda and I just LOVE it! Those birds are so cool! I thought I had pumpkin striped grosgrain, but couldn't find it, so I used blue. I'll be adding pumpkin to my next order!

Inside card says "Have a beachin' birthday" That cracks me up!

feeling a little spooky...

This is for you, Linda!
Yes, I really do send Halloween cards. I also give them to my hostesses and customers in October.I absolutely LOVE making them!
I have used SU Batty For You, SU Sanded background (which looks like a spider web!), CTMH Halloscream, CTMH Halloween Dingbats and two Michaels dollar stamps.
To see more Halloween cards, click on the label marked Halloween on my sidebar!

Have a spooktacular day!

Pretty in Blue

This sentiment translates to, "from the bottom of my heart..."

Guess how many cards I sold this week? Go ahead...guess...Give up? I sold 70 cards this week. 80% were father's day cards, 20% were assorted. I am thrilled!

My next goal is to sell my boxes of assorted cards...I sell those for 25.00 so my goal is 8. If I can do it, then I will have successfully paid my flight to SLC by SELLING CARDS! That would be wild!

So I am very busy crafting this weekend!

Father's Day Shirt

LOVE these origami shirts! I'm also happy to be using old paper that I hoarded! LOL!

Dino Days!

Tina got this new line of paper in, and I just LOVE it! I made cards for Father's Day, AND a cool LO, which I will post later on this week.
On this card I used chipboard letters from Queen and Co.

For the second card, I used my circle punches to cut out dino images from the paper and mounted them on black and used pop dots to add dimension.

Gone Fishing

Another Father's Day card. So far, I have created about 30 cards, all different designs, for Father's Day, and I have sold about half of them. I hope to sell the rest this week at work. Gotta pay for my flight to SLC somehow!

Sunday, June 8, 2008

Father's Day

I have been very busy making father's day cards. I hope to sell them at my job. I sold 30 cards for Mother's Day, so I hope to do about the same.
For this card, I used Happy Camper and more mustard, chocolate chip, ruby red and always artichoke ink.

Unfrogettable

I stamped this at Jen's last weekend. Paired Wild Wasabi with Certainlt Celery and used the set Unfrogettable.

Thursday, May 29, 2008

Celebrate your fabulousness!

This is one of the stamp sets I chose for free as part of my SAB rewards. I just LOVE the sentiment "celebrate your fabulousness!"
I am off to Ottawa this weekend for Stampin' Girls convention plus my all day crop on Sunday. Busy, busy! Poor Mike, all by himself all weekend! LOL!

Wonderful Little Things...

This is based on sketch 166 from SCS. I love this paper, but I have no idea what line it is!

Baby Brown

So by now it is no secret that shades of brown are my favourite colours. I like them for my clothes, for decor, and for cards. I think these shades make great baby boy cards, too. In fact, had I had a baby, I would have decorated the room in these shades of brown. Think classic Pooh.
So here I have used Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa and Barely Banana as my palette. I am thinking of making this as my swap card for Stampin' Girls convention in Ottawa this weekend, but I'm not sure if OTHER people will like it...so I am asking for your HONEST opinion...do you like it? It is OK if you don't, I won't stop visiting your blogs or anything.

What're YOU Lookin' at?

I made this page at Auntie Em's free crop last Saturday. My mom's friend had given us the cat house and my cats immediately took to it.

Puppy Love

Another co-worker asked me to make a card for the woman who breeds the dogs he is getting his puppies from. He said she is being super amazing, giving the puppies all kinds of extras to bring home, so inside I stamped "You are Ter-RUFF-ic!" He picks up his puppies on Saturday, so hopefully she likes the card. Stamps: Puppy Love(CTMH)
CardStock: Taken with teal, real red, white
Ink: Taken with teal, real red, chocolate chip
Acc: Red grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals

Enjoy every moment

I decided to pull out stamp sets I haven't used in a long time. Here I used Enjoy Every Moment. I added a sentiment from It's Your Birthday on the second card.
I random stamped the background on both cards in turquoise, pumpkin and green galore.

Recipe Card

My co-worker gave this really retro looking paper, reminds me of the Christmas wrapping paper from when I was a kid. She is a Christmas FANATIC, so I made her this recipe card using the paper she gave me. This is the outside....
and this is the inside. The recipe is for Lemon Squares.
